I was super excited to celebrate the 4th of July this year because John was coming home for the weekend! He was supposed to get in on Wednesday night at 11:00 PM, but his flight was delayed in Atlanta, which made him miss his connecting flight in Baltimore : ( It was so frustrating! His connecting flight was still at the gate, but they had just shut the doors and would not let him on the plane. The next flight to Albany wasn't until the next morning at 9AM and even then he would be flying standby, so there wasn't even a guarantee he would get on that flight. So he ended up renting a car, drove all night, and got home at about 5:30 AM on the 4th of July. Our original plan was to go to Boston for the 4th, but after his all nighter we needed something more low key. Dinner, games, and fireworks with the Cluffs and the missionaries was just the thing! Boston will just have to wait until next year : )
