Home Sweet Home
The house was built in the 70's. Quite a bit of updating has been done, but there's still a lot to do! John and I are excited to tackle it and make this house "ours."
We've got several projects going on right now, but the majority of our time has been spent in the kitchen . . . like I said, I'll post before and afters once it's done.
A couple of other "projects" have popped up unexpectedly. Like the day we closed on the house I was turning off the bathroom light and noticed water coming out of the ceiling light fixture! Luckily, I'm married to Handy Manny, so he was able to find and fix the problem. However, since it had been leaking for so long there was now a mold problem. Ugh! So we started demolishing the bathroom to make sure we got all the mold taken care of. And I mean we tore everything out and it's still completely torn apart. We'll get back to this project once the kitchen is finished.
Another unexpected project arose when I put a new water filter in the fridge and discovered that the fridge was hooked up to the hot water line. Seriously, who does that?! Again, Handy Manny to the rescue! He really is great to have around : )
The sun room has become my painting space. Someday it'll be our "greenhouse" once all the remodeling is done.
And there's still lots of remodeling to do . . . like dealing with blue toilets, green bathtubs, linoleum floors, plastic light fixtures, etc, etc. etc.
Apparently, Handy Manny doesn't like to be all work and no play
It's all fun and games until you show your elderly neighbor the work you've been doing to the house and you forget about the writing on the wall . . . never a dull moment : )
