Look who came to visit!
Babushka, Emma and Carly stayed with us for a whole week of fun in Oklahoma!
John said my smile didn't look natural in the first picture.
The second one is much more natural ; )
Backyard fires have become a fun Sunday evening tradition at our house this summer!
Stargazing is always involved : )
Monday, we went to Stockyard City to see the Cattle Auctions. This may sound lame, but it's really pretty amazing!
Next, we headed to downtown OKC to play in the splash pad & children's garden.
On Tuesday, Emma's wish of playing in an Oklahoma rainstorm came true and Babushka helped me hang pictures on the sad empty walls of our house : )
Wednesday, we drove to Meers for lunch, but it was CLOSED! So sad : ( Thankfully, we had snacks & had a great time seeing Mt. Scott, the Holy City, & the Wichita Mtns Wildlife Preserve until we finally got to eat in Medicine City.
Top of Mt. Scott.
Elevation: 2,464
Gabe asked if we would need to take oxygen with us : )
Not quite Mt. Everest, but the 360 view was beautiful!
Next stop, the Holy City.
It's odd, being in the middle of no where and all, but it's a neat place where they hold a "passion pageant" every year.
Buffalo in the Wildlife Preserve
Finally, we made it to Medicine City where we ate a yummy (and much anticipated, remember Meers was closed) lunch/dinner. The restaurant was right on the river and the kids had fun checking out the ducks, geese, fish, turtles and even a water moccasin while we waited for our food!
Thursday, we spent at Reno Swim & Slide.
Friday, was the Museum of Osteology & the kids played on the Go Kart when we got home!
Accelerator Emma & Carburetor Carly
Saturday - A quick visit to Pops and playing on the Slip n' Slide!
John went wild with Birch Beer as always. We tried a Jackson Hole Strawberry Rhubarb soda that was great! The Dang! Red Cream Soda is always my favorite & we even tried a Chocolate Covered Bacon flavored soda this time. It was as horrible as it sounds!
Now it's time to beat the heat!
It's been a busy summer for us moving & fixing up our house, so it was absolutely great being able to enjoy a week of pure fun with these guys! I can't even describe how much we miss them already!
