Once occupied by the French, then the British, then the Americans, then the British and finally the Americans again, Fort Mackinac is now occupied by tourists armed with cameras, and the always helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, cheerful, and brave Boy Scouts! (There is a scout camp on the island and the boys spend time volunteering at the fort.)
Despite what Gabe's face would lead you to believe in this picture, our boys really loved the fort, especially the cannons!
With these guys in the watch tower, I'd say this fort is in good hands!
