John had to work in Corpus Christi for a week, so I had a really tough choice to make. Stay home with the kids and adult in the doom and gloom of January, or go to the beach. Okay, so it wasn't a tough choice.

out here cruising to a backroad song."
A 10 hour drive through crappy Texas traffic
and we were at the beach!
While John was working the kids and I played at the beach. After a few hours we'd come home, eat dinner, then go back to the beach in the evening with John. It was an awesome week!
Padre Island National Seashore
Jellyfish!
While playing in the ocean Gabe got stung on the back of his leg by a jellyfish. To try and take the sting away I told him he needed someone to pee on his leg. Quentin was happy to try so he came over and peed on the ground completely missing Gabe's leg. Next we asked Porter to try. He was willing, but he got a little stage fright and couldn't perform. So we asked John and he flat out refused. By this time Quentin thought he might be able to pee some more and this time he was successful in getting the pee on Gabe's leg! Unfortunately, Gabe thought it stung more and didn't feel soothed at all by his brother peeing on his leg. We walked to the visitor center and explained to one of the rangers on duty what had happened. She knew just what to do for Gabe's leg. She sprayed some white vinegar on his leg and informed us that peeing on a jellyfish sting is an old wive's remedy that is ineffective.
"So you're telling me I let my brother's pee on me for NOTHING?" -Gabe
Black hawks and tide pools

It was so windy!
The Atomic Tuna Tower @ South Texas Sushi!
We found a dead puffer fish on the beach and someone may have even taken the smelly thing back to the hotel with us😂😂😂
Our last day in Texas was cool and windy, so we flew kites on the beach.
So long beach. We will miss you!
