When digging for crystals it's important to follow the proper steps.
First, you must dig a hole.
Second, locate the crystals in your newly dug hole. Physically getting into said hole provides the optimal vantage point.
Thirdly, use any means necessary to excavate the crystals. Here are some of the techniques we tried.
1. Use the ground water to gently wash surrounding soil away from crystal.
2. Offer the crystals a drink of your big gulp.
3. Yell at the crystals in hopes they will be scared into submission and fall into your hands.
3. The good ol' firehose method of eroding the soil around the crystals.
(Be sure to properly secure and store any firehoses)
4. Challenge the crystals to a game of King of the Mountain
5. When all else fails, just dig it out with your shovel!
