When we went to Hawaii the Corona Virus stuff was just starting to get crazy. So so glad we were able to go before things got too out of hand! Little did we know March 14th would be the kid's last day of school.
Here's how we spent our time in quarantine.
Gabe made himself a "hazmat" suit.
John shows off the freshly stocked shelves full of toilet paper .
We did a lot of puzzles
Played a lot of games
Watched a lot of Netflix
I'll confess, I watched all of the Tiger King. He's from Oklahoma. How could I not? And the memes about Tiger King, well, I saved my favorites.
I finished another scrap quilt. It will forever be referred to as the quarantine quilt.
Minute to Win it Games
And, the quarantine memes, so good.
Best April Fool's joke EVER. My kids were in tears!
So thankful we had good weather for the most part, so we could spend lots of time outside!
Doing stuff, like hanging out with our dog and chickens.
Gabe developed a weird fetish for hanging out on the roof.
Porter turned ELEVEN!
We celebrated by staying home and socially distancing.
We worked on home projects . . . the kitchen junk drawer even got organized!
This is Quentin doing his schoolwork? Not sure how well we did at this whole homeschool thing. . .
When your kids leave the backdoor open and you find a chicken in the house . . .
The kids kept the tooth fairy BUSY! Between the three of them I think they lost five or six teeth. The tooth fairy didn't make it to our house a few nights in a row and we had to explain to the kids how she isn't considered essential and would get to us when she could. She eventually came through for all of them!
More outdoor time!
Before you think quarantine was all sunshine, lolipops, and rainbows for us. We had a lot of meltdowns, tears, and yelling. This day at the lake was a specially full of contention and unhappy tears. Life is just tough sometimes. On one of our trips to Home Depot one of the workers and I had a misunderstanding that caused me to break down in tears. I had to go sit in the car and cry while John got our shopping done. I think all the unknowns and uncertainty just hit me and made something as simple as going to the store overwhelmingly emotional. When will life ever be back to normal?
The Miracle Chick. She had deformed feet and thanks to masking tape is now able to walk . . . only to be taken by a hawk and pronounced dead. . . but wait . . . she wasn't dead . . . she rallied and is now doing great! We really bonded through all her drama and she pretty much just loves me now.
This kid is 13. He hates to have his picture taken, but occasionally I can catch him of guard.
