Poor Ralph

We just finished reading The Mouse and the Motorcycle to the kids.  Gabe loved it!  Porter not so much. He's just not old enough yet, but I know he loved the extra playtime before bed while we read to Gabe.
Unfortunately, I saw a mouse in our kitchen last night.  Yes, I screamed.  No one was there to hear it (except the mouse), but I assure you I still made a sound.  When John got home I had him set out traps and sure enough this morning poor Ralph (the mouse from the book) was a goner.  I  tried to keep it a secret from the kids, but I guess John's just not as sensitive as me, because Gabe now knows that Mom and Dad terminated Ralph last night.  Kind of ironic don't you think?

Yuck!! The only good mice are the ones in books who don't make real messes in your house. Glad you got him. Now make John search for any openings bigger than a pencil eraser where he could have gotten in and seal your house up. The Schaefer's have way to many mice stories and so we say that is a bad word at our house.

Remember that time someone wrapped up a dead mouse for Nana?
