September 2019

Quentin got this little dog from school and he has been staging him all over the house doing "real" dog stuff.  This was one of my favorites : )
 Morning snuggles!
And that's all the pictures from September, because I got Pneumonia and pretty much the rest of the month sucked!  Thankful for good friends, thankful for second opinions, and so very thankful for modern medicine and antibiotics!
Even when you're sick with pneumonia, it won't stop your kids from pranking you . . .

August 2019

How the kid's booby trapped me in my bedroom.
No way I'm walking down that hall!
 Backyard Smore's
First day of school!
Quentin 2nd grade
Porter 5th grade
I didn't get a picture of Gabe, I was too busy running after his bus in my pajamas, barefoot, bra-less, crazy haired....the whole package. So here we are, day #2, and he tells me he'll get himself on the bus. He said that I should stay in bed, because I need my sleep. In other words, "Mom, you are super embarrassing, please don't come out of the house."🤣 Oh son, my job of embarassing you has only just begun. But thanks for getting yourself on the bus this morning, I did enjoy the extra sleep.

Found this book on my bed with it's recommendation from Gabe.
"Read this book or miss out on 5% of life."
So this has been my routine for the last 3 weeks. Exercising with the dog while listening to a podcast that tells me when to run, when to walk, and the best part is that it times my runs so I don't have to. I have been doing amazing & have been feeling so strong on these runs, just knocking them out of the park like they're nothing.🏃‍♀️ But the other day I was laying in bed & realized that I listen to all my podcasts at 1.5x speed. Which means that my running podcast, you know the one that was making me feel like wonder woman, you see where I'm going with this? All my runs were sped up, thus shorter, hence way easier then they should have been.🤦‍♀️ So today I put the podcast at normal speed & hit the road & it sucked big time. I didn't feel like wonder woman, I felt more like a girl that ate too much lemon meringue pie yesterday, and that 20 minute work out seemed to last FOREVER, but I got it done!👊  #imightspeeditbackup

July 2019

Somehow, I managed to lose all of our 4th of July photos, but this one.  I was making red, white, and blue rice krispy treats for our 4th of July party, but quickly realized what I'd actually made was the French flag.  Oops!
Ten years ago we were at a garage sale in Ohio and John bought a kayak paddle.  I didn't understand why since we didn't have a kayak, but he insisted and as many times as I've tried to throw it out John has battled in defense of the paddle and it has remained.  Finally, after 10 years John bought a kayak to go with his paddle.
Q had his tonsil removed.  He was all smiles in pre-op.
Coming out of anesthesia is the worst : (
Grandma Rosie sent him a super soft blanket and pillow to comfort him during his recovery.
He's feeling much better now and is recovering well!
Andra came to OKC for a conference and we got to spend time with her in the evenings playing games and catching up on each other's lives.  So fun to have her all to ourselves!
Road trip to the Salt Plains with Chex

The kids spent a week in Utah with Grandpa Wayne & Grandma Rosie!
While the kids were with Grandma and Grandpa, John and I spent the week in Colorado.
 Pike's Peak
 Garden of the God's
We stayed in a yurt on the Platte River!
View of the sunrise from the yurt.
Super comfy king size bed in the yurt!
Big Thompson Canyon
Big Horn Sheep in Big Thompson Canyon

 Loveland
Pinewood Resevoir
Estes Park & Rocky Mtn National Park
Road construction in the park caused us to be in an hour long traffic jam at 12,000 feet.  Many people were getting out of their cars and walking around, so John and Chex got out too.  As fate would have it, traffic started moving and they had to run to catch up to me in the car.  Watching them try to run at 12,000 feet was pretty entertaining.😅
