Chexy Girl

Our baby girl is 5 months old now!  It's been a while since I've posted any Chex pictures, which is amazing, considering how in love with this dog I am : )  So here's a bunch of pics, so you can get yourself a dose of puppy cuteness!

Silly dog sleeps belly-up!  I love looking out in the backyard and seeing her laying in the grass belly-up, just soaking up the sun.
Look!  I can fit my whole fist in my mouth!
Chex and Mr. Pig
The family who dog sat for us while we were on vacation have 5 dogs and a potbelly pig who all live inside their house : )  They were great and texted us pictures of Chex everyday!

SNOW!
We love our sweet Chexy Poo!
Yes, that is what we call her : )

Christmas Came Early . . .

This year, Christmas came early at our house!  Thursday, when the kids got home from school there was a letter in the mail from Santa.  It said that he was coming that night!!!  Earlier, John and I had informed one of Santa's elves that we would be traveling for Christmas and Santa was kind enough to accommodate our special situation.  It drove the kids crazy to not know where we were going, but they sure didn't mind that Santa was coming early!

"Christmas Morning"
The kids opened presents from Santa, their Grandparents, and they found out where we would be going for Christmas . . . DISNEYLAND!!!
The kids were sure excited to be going to Disneyland.  They made this cute picture to count down the days : )
The day after "our" Christmas we headed to Disneyland!  We spent three fun filled days at Disneyland (but that's another post) then on "the real" Christmas Day, the kids woke up to find a stuffed Disney character in their beds.  After breakfast, it was off to the pool to enjoy our Christmas morning in sunny California!
We checked out of our hotel, had Christmas lunch at Del Taco (restaurant pickings are slim on Christmas Day) and headed to Las Vegas to see the Arens Family. It was so good to see our friends!  Lots has changed for our families over the last three years!
Twas a very Merry Christmas indeed!

All I Want For Christmas is My Two Front Teeth

Gabe: Look, my hamburger has blood on it!
Me: (Quickly inspect hamburger)  Yes, that's blood, now smile for me.
Gabe: Huh?
Me: Just smile...
Gabe: My tooth!
John: Now you can say, "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth!"
After lunch, we checked out the Oklahoma Train Museum.  The kids loved it!  Boys and trains, you can't go wrong.

So Much to be Thankful For

It was so wonderful to have family in town for Thanksgiving and for Gabe's baptism!  Papa and Grammy were here for an entire week.  It was fun to get out and see some of OKC with them!

Historic Stockyard City
OKC is home to the world's largest stocker and feeder cattle market.
We were  sure to go when there was an auction taking place.  It was actually pretty amazing to watch!
Next up, was The Museum of Osteology, or "the bone museum" as my kids call it.  Another amazing place!
We also visited the Oklahoma City National Memorial.
It was so great to have family here!  Our favorite thing we did was just hanging out around the house and being together.  These kids love their grandparents!

One more special memory we will always have from this trip is when Rach got pulled over for speeding (for the FIRST TIME EVER) with her in-laws in the car!  Good times, good times : )
We feel so blessed to have had our family here for Gabe's baptism and Thanksgiving!  It was a great week!  And thanks to the motorcycle cop who let me off with just a warning : )
