Our Mother's Day Adventure

I had such a wonderful Mother's Day this year!  My boys spoiled me with breakfast in bed, and gifts they made at school and church.  After church John really wanted a nap, but I had other plans : )  We packed a cooler full of drinks and snacks, piled in the car and headed to Lake George to do some hiking.  About half way there we realized we'd left the cooler at home.  Whoopsies : )  Once there, we did some serious uphill hiking (it felt like we were climbing straight up the mountain), dealt with the boys whining and fighting over who was the leader, and when we finally reached the top of the mountain (very hungry and thirsty) we were rewarded with amazing views of Lake George and a beautiful waterfall.
I love our Sunday afternoon hikes!  There's nothing better than spending time with my family in nature and enjoying the beautiful places our Heavenly Father has created!

Everything is Awesome!

The Lego Movie.  It was awesome.  My son is now obsessed.  He has decorated the walls of our house with handcrafted characters from the movie.  He checks with me on a daily basis to see if the movie is out on DVD yet, because he assures me, we will be the first people to own the DVD.  And, let's not forget about the music!  The song from the Lego movie is played over and over and over at our house and in our car.  There are days when I've heard the song at least 72 times before 9AM.  Gabe even made his own music video . . .  with a special guest appearance by me : )

Gabe, you're awesome!!!

Happy Easter!

Saturday we had an Easter Egg Hunt and played games with our friends the Cluffs.  Today, we tried to come down from our sugar high and focus on the real reason we celebrate Easter - the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ.  It's been a fabulous Easter!
Now, we "mustache" you a question.  Did you have a Happy Easter too?  We sure hope so!

Look Who Had a Birthday!

Porter is 5 years old!!!
His favorite gifts were these huge trucks.  He got a cement mixer and a garbage truck.  He absolutely LOVES them.  He wants to sleep with them at night, but since they are practically as big as he is, we won't let him.  So he tucks them into their very own bed (in the closet) and covers them with a blanket each night so they don't get cold.  So cute!
On Saturday, Porter had his first "friend" birthday party, monster truck themed of course!

Wild Weekend???

This weekend John's work trusted him to chaperone a co-ed college sleepover on campus.
So why does it look like there was a frat party at my house???
Because someone trusted me to chaperone a 2 year old.

Hope John's chaperoning gig turned out better than mine.

Journey Through the Body

Gabe and Porter both love science, Porter especially loves learning about the human body.  If he gets to choose a book at bedtime, chances are we will be reading an anatomy book.  So when I heard about this exhibit advertised I knew they would love it!  Luckily, we got there when it wasn't super crowded so the kids got a chance to do lots of hands on stuff!
