Baboushka

Two weeks with my mom all to myself!  Okay, this may not be a big deal to you, but this was a HUGE deal to me, because my mom still has young kids at home, so she rarely gets to come and be just a grandma.  But we made it happen and it was great!
One day while she was here I drove her by the Cohoes Falls, but the water had been diverted to the power plant so it wasn't very impressive.  As we were leaving I saw the Sister Missionaries taking pictures of the falls.  So I jumped out of the car and said hi to them.  A few days later the Sisters called me to let me know that they were by the falls again and the water wasn't being diverted, so it would be a good chance for my mom to see the falls in all their glory.  So a couple of hours later we headed out to see the falls and look who we ran into again . . . the sister missionaries!  This time I had my camera handy so we got pictures together : )
Pedicures and dinner at P.F. Chang's on her last day here.

Thanks for coming to see us Baboushka!
We love you!

Ward Christmas Party

I was in charge of our Ward's Christmas Party this year.  Most of you will find these pics really boring, but this is just more for me to remember.  For our program we had some of the Primary kids dress up in costumes and stand on the stage while the Nativity Story was read.  During the story we also had several Christmas musical numbers performed by ward members.  I think it turned out okay, it was a stressful night for me so I can't say I enjoyed it, but I'm sure enjoying it being over with : )  Also, I don't know how I could have done everything without my mom's help.  Planning and prepping and decorating and executing a ward party was not what I had in mind for her trip out here!  However, I'm so glad it worked out the way it did and that she was here to help!  Thanks mom!

Vermont Covered Bridges

While Babushka was here we took a day and drove just over the New York border to see a little bit of picturesque Vermont.  On our way out of town we stopped at Oakwood Cemetery to see Uncle Sam.  If you live here and have never been to this cemetery, you should go, it's beautiful.
Vermont Covered Bridge Museum and Art Center: Due to time constraints (picking Gabe up from school) we didn't go through the museum.  Instead, we had some fun taking some pictures outside and it leaves something for us to go back and do next time : )

Lunch at Chili's
Now to check out some covered bridges (in the pouring rain).

This is how we change diapers in the rain : )
And HOW could we drive past this place and NOT stop?

Yes, it was a total tourist trap, but sometimes don't you just love those?  I do!

All I Want For Christmas
