8 Months

I hate pregnant pictures, but here it is.  This belly is getting ridiculously large.  I'm afraid people are going to think I've escaped from the circus freak show by the end of this pregnancy.  Two more months . . .
We had another ultrasound done yesterday to determine if I was going to have to have a c-section.  The results were good and it looks like we'll be able to have a normal birth.  It's amazing the difference 1 cm can make between major surgery and a normal delivery.
Everything with the baby is looking great.  They said he weighs about 4 lbs right now.  So if he's going to be the size of my other two kids he'll need to double his weight in the next two months.  Which means this circus act is just going to keep getting bigger and bigger!

Here's more house pics.
Front Room
  Dining Area
Yes we are using a card table as our kitchen table right now.  Our kitchen table is in the garage being used as a saw table.  Why aren't we using our kitchen table to eat on and the card table to saw on in the garage?  I'm really not sure, other than where would the fun be in that?
 Master Bedroom
No curtains hung yet, but I figured I should take the picture while the room was clean . . . who knows when that will happen again.  The curtains are red, so just use your imagination.

It's Done!

BEFORE

 AND AFTER

So happy to have the fence up!  Now the wild beasts can run and play and not be smooshed by cars, bad guys, or wild elephants.  Let the wild rumpus begin!

Pictures

Gabe watering the seeds we started for our garden.
This is what happens when you give a two year old an ice cream cone.

I've been promising interior pics of our house, so here's a few.  I've come to the realization that the entire house will never be picture ready all at the same time, so this is going to come in bits and pieces.
Downstairs Bathroom
(The purple towels make me think of my friend Dana, she would like them.)
 Kitchen
 Downstairs Hallway
 Entryway
 Stairway
and more to come . . .
(you know, when I get things cleaned up and looking presentable)

In other news, our fence got started today!  I am so excited, by the end of the week the animals (I mean kids) will be caged!!!  This is a dream come true!  So excited!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

The boys made a shamrock center pieces for our table.

Eating our St. Patrick's Day breakfast.
Green french toast!

Gabe chose his outfit for the day.  A green tie, on top of a green shirt.
He figured it would double his protection against pinching leprechauns.

Leprechaun hunting.
You never know where one might be hiding.

 Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Land mines?

We are in the process of getting a fence put in our yard.  This is John outside with a survey crew finding our property lines.  One of our neighbors saw them outside and ran over to another neighbors house (the one we are finding the property line with) and said, "Dude, there's an army guy in your backyard with a metal detector looking for something.  Do you have land mines in your backyard?"
No, there are no land mines in our backyard.  We are simply trying to put up a fence.

Poor Ralph

We just finished reading The Mouse and the Motorcycle to the kids.  Gabe loved it!  Porter not so much. He's just not old enough yet, but I know he loved the extra playtime before bed while we read to Gabe.
Unfortunately, I saw a mouse in our kitchen last night.  Yes, I screamed.  No one was there to hear it (except the mouse), but I assure you I still made a sound.  When John got home I had him set out traps and sure enough this morning poor Ralph (the mouse from the book) was a goner.  I  tried to keep it a secret from the kids, but I guess John's just not as sensitive as me, because Gabe now knows that Mom and Dad terminated Ralph last night.  Kind of ironic don't you think?

Dinner Rules

We have this rule at our house that you will not be excused from the dinner table until your food is gone.  If you choose not to eat your dinner, you go to bed.  Porter has been known to sit at the dinner table for hours.  He's also been known to go to bed as early as 6:00 some nights.  So after an hour of sitting at the table the other night, I guess he decided to just put himself to bed . . . while still at the table.
Sleep tight little guy!

Retro Family Night

Family night at our house consisted of: Pizza, root beer, and the original Nintendo!

John brought this home from work today and we've had a blast playing all the old games.  Does this bring back memories or what???

Let's just say the unofficial lesson was on family history, since this is how John and I both spent a good portion of our childhood : )

Totally not related, but how do you dress for swim lessons when this is what it looks like outside your house?
In your swimsuit and snow boots of course!

I'm sure you've all heard of garage bands.
Well, this is the kitchen rock band.
ROCK ON EVERYONE!

Our First New York Snow!

When we moved to New York in December I was afraid this is the kind of weather we'd be dealing with.  Thankfully the snow held off until now and we were able to enjoy our first New York snowstorm.    John even got a much needed snow day and got a bunch of work done around the house.  Yeah for snow days!!!

Swimming Lessons

We thought a winter session of swim lessons would be a good idea.  Not only is it a good refresher for this upcoming summer, but an opportunity to get out of the house & have some fun!  We're looking forward to the next six weeks of pool time!
