Kid's Bathroom

When we bought our house last summer we knew we were in for a lot of work.  The house was built in the 70's and needed to be updated.  Our plan was to tackle the remodel one room at a time starting with the kitchen.  Well, that plan backfired the day we closed on the house and I noticed water coming out of the bathroom light fixture.  Yes, day one in our new house and water was leaking from the ceiling.  The bathroom suddenly became high priority because water typically means mold.  Sure enough, when we started to look for mold we found it.  We had to fix the leak, demo the bathroom, and get rid of the mold right away.  However, that's all we did.  The kitchen was our priority and the torn apart but mold free bathroom sat on the back burner for months.  Well, it's finally done!  Christmas was our big push to get it done.  John's parents were coming to stay with us and the idea of all of us sharing our small master bathroom was the motivation we needed to get it done!

The water was leaking from this light fixture
I'm so lucky to be married to Handy Manny!
The leak was fixed in no time.
Mold was mostly behind the drywall, but in places where it was really bad you could see it on the front side too.
We removed the dropped ceiling above the tub.
Here it is torn out.
Sorry I can't figure out how to turn the picture : (
Just admire that green bathtub before it goes bye-bye
Goodbye green tub!
We ordered a deep soaking tub for the bathroom.
It gives you 15" of water instead of your standard 9".
John insulated it to death before installing it.
We spent Friday night in our new tub together.
One week before our company arrived for Christmas and this is what the bathroom looked like.
The tub was in and that's it.  I was a freaking out!
We got busy and had a week of very late nights.
This is what the hallway looks like when you're remodeling.
Almost impassable, but not quite.
At last, it all comes together.
And that my friends, was one whale of a project!

February

I can't believe another month is gone!
Here's what happened in February.

Papa and Grammy came to visit.
Basketball ended.
Hung some dog butts on the wall in the kid's room : )
We had beautiful weather!  Lots of playing outside and working in the yard!

This kid took over a bajillion selfies
He also joined the Blue Man Group
I went on an overnight Young Women's activity
Drew a picture and sent it home : )
Quentin can't wait to be a cub scout : )
More selfies.
This time at Target
And that's it for February.
To sum it up, I feel like the month consisted of Quentin taking random pictures on my phone.
How's that for exciting?
I know, not very.
But that's ok.
