Apple Orchard

One of the fun things we did while Josh and Dana were here is go to the Apple Orchard.  As you can see the kids had a ball running around and sampling the goods!

A bushel later and we call it a day!

Josh & Dana Visit

Remember our friends Josh & Dana?  Well, Josh just graduated from Pilot Training in Mississippi and soon they will be heading to their next assignment in Las Vegas, Nevada.  But first they took a road trip to visit some family in South Dakota and lucky for us they stopped for a few days in Ohio on their way home!
It was so much fun to have the whole gang back together! And WOW the gang has grown!  Can you believe there were only two kids when we all first met?

He's Five! (well, almost)

Last Saturday we celebrated Gabe's 5th Birthday!  True, his birthday isn't for another month, but it was really important to him to have a party with his friends before we moved, so we celebrated early.  Originally we planned to have the party at a park, but the weather didn't cooperate with us, so we ended up having the party at Burger King.  Thankfully everything turned out great  (I was super nervous about the Burger King thing)!

Here's pictures of our Lego Star Wars party!

This was the easiest birthday cake I've ever made!
Every kid went home with their own "lightsaber" bubble wand.
And a bag full of candy from our Darth Vader pinata.
(Vader's hiding behind the milk and orange juice)
The Birthday Boy blowing out the candles!
(I love how you can see Porter in the corner of the picture helping Gabe out.)
Gabe wearing what was left of our Darth Vader pinata after the kids attacked it with a lightsaber.
I find this picture pretty funny of the dads checking out Gabe's new toys!

Thanks to all of our Ohio friends who celebrated Gabe's special day with us!  What a gift it is to celebrate birthdays and holidays and not feel homesick for our families in Utah since we have been blessed with such an awesome family of friends here in Ohio!

Welcome Fall

This is my favorite time of year and since it appears we are going to be in Ohio for the season, I thought we should decorate!  So we headed out to the pumpkin patch to pick up some fall decor.  (By the way, it's really stupid to vacuum out your van the day before you go buy corn stalks, straw bales, and pumpkins.  Just FYI.)

Here's my front porch looking all harvesty after our trip to the pumpkin patch.
And this cute wreath is on my front door.
(Thanks to my cousin Natalie for the awesome idea!)
Welcome Fall!
