3 Bits of Gabe Cuteness

Cute Gabe Bit #1

Cute Gabe Bit #2
Tonight Gabe was having a hard time listening so we told him we weren't going to read books before bed if he didn't start obeying. Well, he ended up loosing story time. This was devastating to him - it's one of his favorite parts of the day. So as he was getting his pajamas on tonight he asked us to read a story to Porter so he could listen. John and I had to laugh at how clever he was!

Cute Gabe Bit #3
While we were in Utah I told Gabe we were going to stop and get some Krispy Kremes for dessert one night. We stopped, got the donuts and drove home. When we got home Gabe exclaimed, "Mom, you forgot to get the Christmas Things!"

Porter is Walking!

John and I have felt that Porter has KNOWN how to walk for a long time now, but he just wouldn't do it without having a hand to hold onto. However, on Sunday he took about three steps during sacrament meeting and John and I were both excited that he had taken so many steps by himself! Little did we know that Porter had made the decision to start walking on his own. He spent the rest of Sunday walking everywhere and hasn't stopped since. So strange. One day refusing to walk and the next day walking everywhere! Go Porter!!!
(That's apple juice on his pants, not pee. I promise!)

You might be a redneck if . . .

your swing set has one of these:
one of these:
and several of these on it.
Even with all this red neck paraphernalia the birds are still pooping on our swing set. Not as bad as before, but still.
Crap, what are we going to try next? It just keeps getting more and more red neck with each thing we try . . .

Nienie Dialogues

Does anyone else follow the Nienie Dialogues? It's a blog written by Stephanie Nielson who survived a plane crash with her husband almost two years ago. It's a blog I love and find great inspiration from. Her experience and attitude are amazing. Her example has made me want to be a better person, not take life for granted, and grow closer to my Savior Jesus Christ. Recently Stephanie posted the following video on her blog. Take time to watch it. You won't regret it.

Entertrainment Junction

Saturday turned out to be a cold, blustery day so we found some fun inside at Entertrainment Junction. If you have a kid who LOVES trains, this is the place to go! Gabe was in absolute train heaven! He didn't appreciate how intricate the model train displays were, but he had a blast watching the model trains (and there were a lot of them) go into tunnels, over bridges, onto turntables, etc. And of course he loved the kids play area where he could see and play with trains from Thomas and Friends!
(This picture is for Dana)
We love trains! Can you tell?

Porter

I realized that I posted about Porter's first birthday, but not much about him. So here's a little bit about Porter at 1 year old.
Height: 30 in.
Weight: 19 lbs.
He's a climber. A cuddler. A hugger. Still a crawler. Although he is still an easy going little guy, he is definitely starting to voice his opinion more and more!
Some things he likes are: Mommy, Daddy, and usually Gabe. He loves being outside. He loves animals. And he loves his bath!
Some things he dislikes are: Being left alone. Fruit - like bananas and strawberries. And having his faced wiped.
Overall he is super smiley, happy, and delightful 99.9% of the time!
We love our Porter!
