Puzzles

Gabe is very into doing puzzles right now. This is a clip of him putting together his favorite construction puzzle, which we typically put together at least three times a day! I know I'm biased, but I think he is so smart to be able to do these puzzles all by himself! He has also started counting to ten all by himself and he knows all the letters in the alphabet. I'm so proud of him and how quickly he picks up on things! One other thing he's doing right now that I absolutely think is so adorable is if he drops something or makes a mistake he'll exclaim, "whoopsie daisies!" How cute is that?

Tools of the Trade

Gabe has begun offering haircuts to John and I. (I think our neighbor Josh may have gotten one too. Sorry, Josh!)

A haircut from Gabe consists of Gabe approaching you with his toolbox, asking you if you would like a haircut, pulling a pair of pliers out of his tool box and yanking several hairs out of your head with the pliers. Then he exclaims, "Look, haircut!" I love that he is creative, but OUCH!

Adventures in Puppy-sitting

10 Things We Learned While Puppy-sitting

10. Puppies get tired and need naps just like two year olds do.

9. Two year olds don't like to let puppies take naps.  Gabe was constantly cuddling up next to Juno while she tried to sleep, trying to put his blanket on her, and give her kisses good-night.

8. Puppies love two year olds!  They also love to chase, jump on, and bite two year olds.

7. Two year olds don't like it when puppies jump on them, knock them over, and use them as chew toys.

6. Despite how wonderfully potty trained their owner claims they are, puppies will still poop on your carpet.  (This may be true for two year olds too.)

5. Puppies pooping on your carpet will trigger nightmares in pregnant women.  Naturally the nightmares will be about puppies pooping on your carpet.

4. Puppies cry at night.  Well, they don't cry when they are sleeping on your bed with you, but after the "carpet incident" who would let the puppy sleep on their bed?  So to be accurate, puppies cry at night when they have to sleep in a box next to your bed.  (I did put a blanket in the box with her!)

3. Puppies have to take potty breaks in the middle of the night.  This however, is not a huge inconvenience considering a puppy and a pregnant woman take approximately the same number of potty breaks each night.

2. Your husband will think you are INSANE when you tell him you miss the puppy after it's been gone for two days and you want it back. He'll remind you about "carpet incident" and the lack of sleep, but you won't care because you miss the cute little ball of fluff.  You may even have him convinced it's time to make a permanent addition to your family.  Every boy needs a dog right?

1. When the puppy does come back and you spend another "blissful" two days together, you realize that puppies bite, pee, whine, and use your children as chew toys.  Why didn't you see this before?  Who knows, but you now can't wait for the puppy to go home!  You have a two year old . . . that's enough work!  And yes, my husband totally rolls his eyes at me (on a daily basis).
